Bears to play Ravens in NFL Hall of Fame Game

The Bears will play the Ravens in the annual Hall of Fame Game on August 2 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, which opens the NFL's preseason slate.

Only two hall of famers in this class, Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher, played with one team for their entire careers.

The team's first exhibition game under new coach Matt Nagy will be played at 7 p.m.at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

The Hall of Fame Game will be played on Thursday, Aug. 2 in Canton, Ohio. Traditionally it was held on a Sunday, but that was changed starting in 2017.

Urlacher will be the first Bears player to be inducted into the Hall since Richard Dent in 2011. The Bears beat the Ravens this past season, 27-24, in overtime at M&T Bank Stadium.

The festivities will mark the start of the NFL's 99th season.

Preseason in general tends to be a pain for most teams when looking at the high risk of injuries, and just the thought of Philadelphia having to deal with a fifth game seemed frustrating when looking at all of the key injuries they had to overcome last season. The spectacular venue is a major component of the $800 million Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village underway on the Hall's campus. Bobby Beathard, Robert Brazile, Brian Dawkins, Jerry Kramer, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are the other six members that will join Lewis and Urlacher in the 2018 Hall of Fame class. Packages range from event day offerings to four-day experiences that include a multitude of exclusive extras.
