Oklahoma City Thunder vs Golden State Warriors: Lineups, preview & prediction 2/6/18

Thunder End 4-Game Losing Streak With Rout of Warriors

Not only did the Thunder win on the road, but they man-handled the Warriors 125-105.

With Russell Westbrook setting the tone early and Paul George carrying the momentum, the Thunder snapped out of their slide in impressive fashion.

"We were way worse than the officials were", coach Steve Kerr said. The ex-Thunder forward had 33 points with six rebounds in the loss.

They didn't get off to a bad start against the Thunder with 30 points in the first quarter.

The Warriors came into this season as such heavy favorites to repeat one would have had to bet $220 to win just $100 off what seemed like one of the most obvious bets in almost two decades of National Basketball Association play. Simply put, they haven't been the same side since losing Andre Roberson. Westbrook had half the field goals on just 11 shots in his 21-point explosion. Oklahoma City entered the game on a four-game losing streak. "But if we honestly are going to say they're the reason we lost the game tonight, I think that's off". "We're out of whack right now. It's been a struggle".

Green was hit with his first technical at the end of the first half when he argued with official Lauren Holtkamp, complaining that he was hit in the mouth by Westbrook. Meanwhile, Westbrook went down beneath the Thunder basket after crashing into the stanchion.

They had 25 turnovers in their loss to the Thunder and 19 turnovers in their loss in Utah, and that allows teams to get easy buckets in transition off of live-ball turnovers. Josh Huestis earned his second start of the season after rookie Terrance Ferguson started the previous five.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), seven of the Thunder's next nine games will come against teams with losing records. The Warriors defense, if fully locked in, can cause that Thunder offense problems if OKC keep relying on Westbrook and George as heavily as they have in recent games. They've had two days' rest back home, which should go a long way toward recharging their batteries.

Irate at the officials, Kerr received a technical at the 9:38 mark of the second quarter.

Kevin Durant (left hand contusion) is questionable for the Warriors game against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday at Oracle Arena.
