WhatsApp's new feature allowing YouTube videos to play automatically has solved more than one issue at once. The New WhatsApp feature to watch videos within the WhatsApp will be soon stretched out to the Android and Windows networks.
The company has fixed the issue and updated the Mi App store to the latest version of the WhatsApp.
In an exclusive statement to Techook today, Xiaomi has officially acknowledged the problem faced by its users and has clarified the issue. Several users faced a situation where, when they tried to open WhatsApp but couldn't.
Following the update, iPhone users can also drag the YouTube window around your screen without the footage stopping or pausing, in order to get a better view of your messages. The Facebook-owned messaging company added that users who have encountered the error were largely Xiaomi smartphones.
"Fortunately, WhatsApp has worked to allow videos not to be stopped when the user changes the chat", WABetaInfo said. As of now, it's not certain which other handset brands apart from Xiaomi were affected, or whether the distribution issue extended to other third-party app stores apart from the Mi App Store.
If you have a Xiaomi smartphone and were facing an issue in using WhatsApp, then you were not alone. "It was a problem with how our app is distributed, which is not under our control", said a company spokesperson.
The update, which was first spotted by WABetaInfo, has started rolling out to iPhone users.
