Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has revealed what he and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo talk about amid rumours the Portuguese could leave the club.

A season in Mexico with Queretaro was followed by his return to Brazil and Fluminense, for whom he played seven times before cutting short his contract.

Spanish newspaper AS reported on Monday that Ronaldo has informed teammates of his desire to leave the club because he feels betrayed by unfulfilled promises by president Florentino Perez to renew his contract at the Bernabeu.

The Spanish publication said that Ronaldo is currently earning €21m (£18.6m, $25.7m) per season - the equivalent to £360,000-a-week - and believes his deal should now be upgraded after Lionel Messi recently signed a new deal worth €50m-a-season at Barcelona.

According to Guillem Balague of Sky Sports, Madrid would look for £89m for the five-time Ballon d'Or victor.

"We know that people can talk and debate outside, but inside Cristiano must just think about playing, as he has always done".

"I would prefer to talk about his performances and what he gives to the team".

"Cristiano is a part of this club, where he belongs". Everyone, the club, the fans, want him.

"I always say the same thing, I do not see a Madrid without Cristiano. I can't say whether he was unjust with me but there is no point thinking any more about that". People are talking about this at a hard time for the team, but we still believe that things are going to change.

"I do not want to talk about the contract, or these things".

Perez's last public statements on Ronaldo's future came at that tournament in Abu Dhabi, when he said he hoped the player did see out his career at the club, but recalled that a current deal signed just over 12 months ago still had three-and-a-half years to run. "I can not see Madrid without Cristiano".
