Sons of Anarchy fans can celebrate after it was announced the long-awaited follow-up series, Mayans MC, will ride on to FX for a 10-episode first season in late summer early fall 2018.

"I am thrilled to formally announce that we've placed a series order for 'Mayans MC, '" Landgraf told press at FX's Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. The first season of this Sons of Anarchy spin-off will premiere on FX in 2018. He was actually arrested and imprisoned for allegedly sanctioning an attack on an individual who had past ties to white power politic, so Mayans MC is right up his alley.

"SoA" creator Kurt Sutter and Elgin James co-created "Mayans MC", which is set in "a post-Jax Teller world".

"Kurt Sutter is a master storyteller, and Mayans MC has the raw energy and intensity that are hallmarks of his signature style", FX Networks programming chief Nick Grad said in a statement.

He added that the cast is diverse with many Latino actors starring in the show. Emilio Rivera, who was originally set to star (as a connection to Sons of Anarchy), was replaced by JD Pardo. Noberto Barba directed the pilot and will be an Executive Producer, with Sutter serving as Executive Producer and James serving as Co-Executive Producer.

Sutter will continue on as executive producer of the series, along with co-creator Elgin James, who interestingly is a former member of Friends Stand United, an organization classified as a gang by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The drama, which follows JD Pardo's character EZ Reyes, hails from "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter and Elgin James.
