Winter Weather Advisory in effect Friday afternoon through Saturday morning

Winter storm to impact US 12 travel, eastern portion of Idaho County

Q2 Weather: Storm still on track for a foot of snow for Billings

The snow may start falling as soon as Friday afternoon.

However, like Wednesday, the Doppler radar shows the snow has overshot Billings and is forecast to roll back west again and encompass us later Thursday evening.

The winter weather is expected to cause some travel difficulties, including snow-covered roads and limited visibility at times. The big story for today is the snow showers. We have a Winter Weather Advisory for most of central IN until 4am Saturday morning. "Locally some spots could see closer to 5".

A total of one to three additional inches of snow can be expected by tomorrow morning. Wear plenty of layers! The temperature is expected to drop to a low around 13 Saturday night with winds of 8 to 10 miles per hour.

Highs today will be in the mid teens, but another brutal shot of cold air arrives after the snow passes through.

Highs remain between 10-15 degrees to start off the first couple days of 2018. For the first day of the new year, we'll barely be above 0 once again.

The heaviest snowfall rates will appear on Friday and Friday night. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
