Power outage at Disneyland shuts down Fantasyland and Toontown


People stuck on rides at Disneyland because of power outage

The outage started before 11 a.m. local time and hit Toon Town and Fantasyland, according to a Disneyland representative.

A transformer is now to blame, shutting off power all across Toontown, as well as portions of Fantasyland around 11 am Pacific Time.

Oklahoma and Georgia are scheduled to visit Disneyland Wednesday to begin events leading up to the Rose Bowl, but a power outage is disrupting attractions at the park.

A massive power outage struck the Disneyland Resort in California on Wednesday.

There was no estimate on when the power will be restored.

The amusement park is having issues with a transformer specific to the park, but does not know when the power will be back on, CNN reports. Guests were escorted off about a dozen rides.

"Our team is now assessing and working to restore power", a park statement said.

Earlier today, the official Disneyland account tweeted that the park was busy. Disney California Adventure Park remained open, however.
