I needed a bit of time to think and make my decision with calm.

"I went to Europe to see some games and feel the excitement of the game there, [the place] where football really got to its full potential".

The local media quoted Kaka as saying, "I am preparing to continue in football and to have a different role, but I will no longer be a professional player, an athlete".

The 2007 Ballon d'Or victor confirmed that he would not renew his contract at MLS side Orlando City in October. Reports circulated around two specific offers: a return to his first love Sao Paolo for a one-year contract and another non-playing role as club director at AC Milan.

Following his €67 million transfer to Real Madrid, however, he entered a somewhat patchier stage in his career but now, with all said and done, he has most certainly done enough to warrant his legendary status. I'm that way inclined too.

The unsafe playmaker won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA's World Player award in 2007 while playing for Milan. "Now, there are people who believe I am already ready". But in the end, he arrived at Real Madrid for 67m euros nearly at the same time with Ronaldo.

The playmaker represented his country 92 times, scoring 29 goals and lifting the 2002 World Cup.

After returning to Milan in 2013 for one season, his move to Orlando City made him into the highest-paid player in MLS history, with a base salary of $6.6 million per year.

He visited the San Siro in November and met with the club's new owners, so don't be surprised if Kaka takes a position with the Rossoneri in the near future. Kaka was, by nature, an attacking midfielder but due to his versatility he could be placed anywhere in the midfield.

He also indicated he could continue his post-playing career in football.
