Passenger threatens to 'kill everybody' on plane after being caught smoking

Watch: Woman threatens to 'kill everybody on this plane'

Passenger Arrested After Making Threats On Flight To Sacramento

Passengers and the flight crew restrained Curbello before she was escorted off the plane and arrested.

The trouble started after the female passenger disabled a smoke detector aboard Southwest Flight 2943 from Portland, Ore., to Sacramento, and proceeded to smoke onboard, Southwest confirmed to Fox News. Curbelo yelled. "I swear, if you don't ... land, I will f-ing kill everybody on this f-ing plane!" "People were very eager to get off the plane and get away from this person", Stewart said.

Curbelo had to be physically forced back to her seat, and in her struggle she ripped an oxygen mask off the ceiling as she berated anyone within range.

Now in custody and being held at the Sacramento County Jail, Curbelo has no explanation for her profanity-laden threatening outbust.

Curbelo was arrested after the plane landed at the Sacramento International Airport.

'Our reports from flight attendants indicate a customer violated federal laws by both smoking on board an aircraft and by tampering with a smoke detector in an aircraft restroom. Pilots had declared an emergency for priority air traffic control. "Our Crew enforced the regulation and that was following by the passenger outburst".

She couldn't really tell KOVR why she was flying to sacramento.

In the video, caught by another passenger on their phone, the 24-year-old is seen waving her fist and screeching at the top of her voice as she makes the threat over and over. "The flight carried 136 Customers and a Crew of five".

In a jailhouse interview with CBS13, Curbelo said she began smoking aboard the plane to counter anxiety, though she declined to elaborate on what was making her anxious. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
