As of December 6th 2017, the Japanese electronics firm has shipped more than 70.6 million PS4 consoles to customers right around the world.
As of December 3, the PlayStation 4 has cumulatively sold though more than 70.6 million units to consumers worldwide with over 617 million copes of PlayStation 4 games sold at retail stores and in the PlayStation digital store.
It seems to be positive news for PSVR, especially as it's still unconfirmed if the headset's current rivals, the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive has surpassed even one million units sold having been on the market for roughly six months longer.
Good figures all-round, but the PS4 still has some some catching up to do if wants to compete with its great-grandfather and grandfather. It's still a far cry from the PS2's lifetime sales of over 155 million. Think it can do it?

Nintendo Switch has had a brilliant year so far and was the best selling online item in the United States on Black Friday as per Adobe Insights. It looks likely that in it's first year of launch Nintendo may end up selling more than 10 Million units globally.
