Holiday parades are coming to town

Electric light parades will entertain Texas Panhandle towns starting tonight in downtown Amarillo

Shinnston is preparing for its annual Christmas parade on December 2.

The parade is sponsored by The City of Fredericksburg Virginia Parks and Recreation Department and Huber Motor Cars, and media sponsor B101.5.

The Silver Bay YMCA Conference Center will be on hand to do crafts with kids.

The 65th Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade will light up Santa Barbara's State Street at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

And the annual Lighted Boat Parade at the Beach will be a wonderful sight later on Saturday. The parade route runs from Spotsylvania Middle School to Spotsylvania Courthouse Village/Merchant Square Pavilion.

Marshville's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is today starting at 6:30 at the Community Center (118 E. Union Street). The parade is organized by the Rotary Clubs of Santa Maria and Nipomo.

Bedford: Saturday, 11 a.m.

Thursday, Nov. 30, 6:30 p.m. - Lighting of the Memory Tree, in honor of lost loved ones, at Town Hall, 30 Martin St.

Children of Shinnston can write a letter to Santa and turn it in at the city building.

From 4 to 6 p.m., Avenue of Flags will host musical performances, 20 tons of snow and assorted vendors with wine/beer and food for sale.

"They (seniors) always have a variety of great Christmas items, along with fresh baked goods for sale", the event's Pat Hintze said.

Waxhaw's Holiday Festival of Lights Ceremony is Saturday from 4-8 p.m., when roughly 500,000 lights will fill up Downtown.
