Proof that England manager has a BIG problem with Arsenal star?

Hodgson frequently selected Wilshere when England manager

Indeed, Gareth Southgate has asserted that Wilshere must feature week in week out in order to make his squad for next summer's tournament, and stuck to his word when he ignored the Arsenal midfielder this week even after Jordan Henderson, Harry Winks and Dele Alli pulled out of global duty.

Wilshere has, in fact, only managed to start five games this season, none of which have come in the Premier League.

Wilshere has played only sparingly for Arsenal after recovering from an injury that cut short his loan spell at Bournemouth last season.

There appears to be no way back into the first team picture at the Gunners for Wilshere and a move in January looks necessary if he wishes to stand a chance of being part of the Three Lions World Cup squad. When we have played with a 10, we have had Dele Alli and Adam Lallana. But we are not playing with a 10 tomorrow [against Germany on Friday].

"I don't think Jack is a 10".

"I've been here 10 years, I love this club and feel like I have a special relationship with the fans", Wilshere told Standard Sport.

"Now you are telling me we have been linked with him, but by who?"

"I think he is a deeper player but he is not playing deeper". You'd have to ask Arsene [Wenger] why that was.

West Ham United, Swansea City and La Liga outfit Real Betis are all said to be monitoring the player's situation, while The Telegraph recently claimed that struggling Palace were prepared to offer him a lifeline. "I work with Dougie Freedman and we talk about potential players". Wilshere has played a lot more this season that Drinkwater and more than the Tottenham left back Danny Rose who also got an England call-up.

"At the moment I'm concentrating on getting into the Premier League team".
