A woman who married her own mother after they "hit it off" has pleaded guilty to incest.
Misty Spann, 26, was sentenced to 10 years of probation for the marriage to her biological mother.
District Judge Ken Graham gave Misty Spann a deferred sentence of 10 years, at least two of which must be under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, court minutes show.
Misty Spann was raised by her grandmother because her 44-year-old mum lost custody of her three kids.
Court documents revealed that Patricia Spann "had looked into" marrying her daughter and believed she could because her name was no longer on Misty Spann's birth certificate.
The marriage between Misty and her mother was annulled October 12, six weeks after Misty filed for an annulment "by reason of illegality and fraud", the Tulsa World reports.
Authorities learned about the incestuous relationship after a child welfare investigation, The Associated Press reported citing a police affidavit.
They married in March 2016, after Patricia convinced her daughter that they weren't violating the law by being together.
Incest in Oklahoma is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
"We got told we actually had a real mom, so we wanted to know what she was about, the first thing she showed us she was about was trying to get in my brother's trousers", Cody added. She said her mother told her she had received legal advice indicating their marriage was legal.
"I think she's worthless she put my sister into this".
Misty and Jody's brother Cody Spann told KSWO that his mother manipulated both his sister and brother into marriage. She forced my sister into this, there's a lot of people that now that. Patricia told officers about her history with her children as well as her current relationship, not realising what she was saying was incriminating. Was she an adult?
