Odell Beckham Jr. leaves game vs. Chargers with apparent gruesome leg injury

He was carted off the field and did not return to the game. It was the same ankle that he had injured in training camp and forced him to miss Week 1.

Marshall suffered an ankle sprain during Sunday's 27-22 defeat to the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The next play, Manning was sacked and fumbled, which the Chargers recovered at the Giants' 11-yard line.

That gave Los Angeles its first win against four losses, and dropped the Giants to 0-5.

While making an attempted sideline catch, Marshall landed awkwardly and his ankle rolled outwardly and he never put his foot down again. And the Giants went on to lose the game. What would have generally have been a fairly inconsequential play became, unfortunately, a critical moment for the Giants as their star receiver remained on the ground in considerable pain.

Beckham came into Sunday's game as the second-leading receiver on the team with 205 yards and two touchdown receptions.
