Speaking further about Weinstein, Sivan also said that the Hollywood producer's vehicle was "stocked full of cases of Diet Coke" and that she found it very weird, according to the report. Weinstein has accused the TImes of "reckless reporting" but attorney Lisa Bloom, who has been advising Weinstein, confirmed that his behavior was sexual harassment. Sivan noted to HuffPost that Weinstein's auto was "stocked full of cases of Diet Coke", which she said she found to be odd. At the time, Sivan was a reporter for Long Island 12, a local NY cable channel. He suddenly exposed himself and began masturbating in front of her, and continued doing so until he ejaculated into a potted plant in the hall, she added.
She reportedly told her friend accompanying her that evening to come and check up on her if she was not back in 10 minutes.
She called for Weinstein's resignation from the company, suggesting that he "face his sickness, and go into a long, self-imposed exile". Sivan said that as soon as they were alone, Weinstein attempted to kiss her.
She wrote in it: "Based on my years in the industry and unfortunately, my own personal experience with Harvey Weinstein, I can tell you that I believe every single word that was written in the extremely disturbing, but not all that shocking, New York Times piece published yesterday".
Ms. Sivan recalled the alleged encounter after The New York Times published a bombshell report Thursday revealing that Mr. Weinstein, the head of The Weinstein Company and Miramax film studios, reached at least eight settlements with women dating back almost three decades in response to similar previously unpublicized allegations of sexual harassment and other misconduct, including several leading actresses.
Once Sivan and Weinstein were downstairs they chatted and he showed her the cafe. Sivan says Weinstein ejaculated quickly into a potted plant that was in the vestibule and then proceeded to zip up his trousers and they walked back into the kitchen. Weinstein mentioned that he was going on a foreign trip and asked if Sivan wanted to get together when he got back. She told him no and ended the call. She has not interacted with Weinstein since the incident in 2007.
As Weinstein left for an indefinite absence from work, one-third of his company's board members submitted their resignation.
