Hours before Sergio Aguero's terrifying vehicle crash in Amsterdam, the football ace had been having the time of his life in with Colombian superstar Maluma.

Pep Guardiola fears Sergio Aguero has broken a rib after the Manchester City striker was involved in a auto accident in Amsterdam.

The Argentina global was a passenger in a taxi en route to Amsterdam airport after attending a concert by Colombian singer Maluma on Thursday evening.

Reports on Friday morning suggested that the Argentine striker, who is on the verge of becoming City's all-time top goalscorer, had fractured his ribs but the club did not confirm on the extent of the injury suffered by their forward.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has played down Sergio Aguero's midweek trip to Amsterdam so close to their crunch game with Chelsea.

In a statement on Thursday, the club announced Benjamin Mendy sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament during last weekend's 5-0 home win over Crystal Palace, while news broke on Friday that Aguero had been involved in a auto crash after attending a concert by Colombian pop star Maluma.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been injured in a road accident in the Netherlands.

It would also impact Aguero's participation in Argentina's faltering World Cup qualifying campaign.

Manchester City will be without one of its biggest stars on Saturday when the team meets Chelsea in what could prove a pivotal matchup.

Riding high at the concert, Aguero shared a short clip of Maluma in his element on stage.

"And when you have somebody like that in your side and around the other players, I just think that they're people that you feel you can achieve anything with because they're so good". Though the 5-0 win at home to Liverpool was impressive in the way City dismantled Jurgen Klopp's team in the second half, the first half dismissal of Sadio Mane denied Liverpool the chance to truly test City's chin. And when he skidded, we hit the pole. "I'll be discharged in a little while". "He will come back and recover as soon as possible".

Both City and Chelsea, three points behind both Guardiola's men and second-placed Manchester United, go into Saturday's game on the back of midweek Champions League victories over Shakhtar Donetsk and Atletico Madrid respectively.

"A day off is to be happy".
