Ashton Kutcher Says Saquon Barkley Should Be in the NFL Already

McSorley stood strong in the pocket, looked over the middle and tossed a laser between a pair of Iowa defenders.

Trace McSorley got famous throwing footballs over defenses. Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and Louisville's Lamar Jackson traded spots atop the Heisman conversation in recent weeks but Saquon Barkley has been impressive in every game and almost every touch he's had this season.

Penn State has expanded Barkley's role because, as head coach James Franklin said, "We have maybe one of the better football players on the planet".

Take his first career touchdown catch - which sparked Penn State's 52-0 rout of Georgia State on Saturday - as an example.

"A night like tonight's can really improve Juwan's confidence", Franklin said. His previous career best was 207.

For the third straight week, running back Saquon Barkley carried his awesome form collecting 142 receiving yards against the Panthers last week.

The 2017 version of Iowa and Penn State will hopefully look a little different from last year's matchup in College Park.

"That was a Heisman-like performance". Although, don't take my word for it, I said this a year ago against MI, and well, we won.

But Jewell's interception led to a 21-yard touchdown pass from Nate Stanley to Nick Easley in the final minute of the half, giving the Hawkeyes a 7-5 lead. The Hawkeyes hadn't even crossed midfield in the half until that interception and 33-yard return by linebacker Josey Jewell.

Kentucky's last chance to win ended when Austin MacGinnis' 57-yard field goal fell short as time expired.

The Lions had first-and-goal at the 2 early in the third quarter but once again failed to find the end zone. On that drive, the redshirt junior was 7 of 11 for 68 yards while running for another 12. At this point, we are starting to run out of words to describe Saquon Barkley. The Hawkeyes came back against Wyoming, Iowa State and North Texas to start 3-0 on the season, including coming back from 10 points down to beat the in-state rival Cyclones. After all, they've allowed just one touchdown. In fact, Barkley proved last night that no team in the NCAA has a back that can compare to his abilities, as he was impervious to all the hexes that afflicted his teammates.

Although with this game being quite out of reach for a win, that's what we said against MI in 2016.

Though Iowa was probably lucky to pull ahead despite repeatedly going nowhere with the ball in its hands, its results on the other side of the line of scrimmage through two quarters were close to ideal. A Big Ten program playing better than they had in generations, heading into Iowa City as a favorite in a night game, sees their entire team slip into neutral under the lights at Kinnick Stadium. For that, they have nobody to thank but Saquon Barkley.

In two games against the Hawkeyes, Barkley now has 569 all-purpose yards (167 rushing, 44 receiving in the 2016 game). The Hawkeyes went for two, but PSU's Troy Apke broke up the pass. Mcsorley completed a pass to Saeed Blacknall, his first catch of the night, for six yards and a first down. The Nittany Lions move forward having conquered a feisty league opponent.

Half empty: OK, let's dive into the numbers and see if there's a bit of a growing concern with the overall offense and passing attack.
