Sean Spicer Joins Stephen Colbert at the Emmys

Mr Spicer's tongue-in-cheek cameo stunned the Emmys audience including Melissa McCarthy, who picked up a Creative Arts statuette for her "Unhinged Spicey" impersonation of him on Saturday Night Live.

Stephen Colbert hosted the 69th Emmy Awards last night, and as expected, many of his jokes targeted Donald Trump during his opening monologue.

As Spicer rolled back offstage, Colbert joked "Melissa McCarthy, everyone", referencing McCarthy'sbrilliant recurring impression of Spicer on SNL this year.

"I want to thank Trump for making black people number one on the most oppressed list", said Donald Glover, victor for best actor in a comedy series for his FX series Atlanta.

Here are 8 moments you can't miss from this year's Emmy Awards.

Game of Thrones, a big victor at previous Emmys, wasn't eligible this year because episodes from its last series didn't air during the Emmys eligibility window.

Spicer appeared on the awards show to mock his fiery exchange with reporters following President Trump's inauguration in January. I thought you people love morally compromised antiheroes.

"However you feel about the president, and you do feel about the president, you can't deny that every show was influenced by Donald Trump in some way", he added.

The comedian quipped that the crowd at the Emmys bore responsibility for Trump as he may not have sought the White House had he won an award. Colbert asked. "He's just like Walter, just whiter!"

Kidman won big for Big Little Lies, and she got emotional accepting her first-ever Emmy. "I certainly hope we achieve that tonight, but at this point, we have no way of knowing". "Both in person and around the world", Spicer said, making fun of his own comments following the 2017 inauguration.

"That really soothes my fragile ego".

The Trump jokes didn't stop all night as victor Alec Baldwin accepted Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal as the president on Saturday Night Live. "You guys are neck and neck, and Alec, you are up against a lot of neck".
