Everton boss Ronald Koeman feels Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's offsides

Incredible Martial and Mkhitaryan stats highlight contrast with last season

Henrikh Mkhitaryan celebrates scoring his side’s second goal

Ronald Koeman says that a top four Premier League finish is not a realistic expectation for Everton fans in the wake of Sunday's 4-0 loss to Manchester United.

After 20 minutes he slid a left-foot shot wide of the post and in the second half he shot straight at United keeper David de Gea from close range, while Gylfi Sigurdsson was also denied by the Spaniard.

A first-half thunderbolt from Antonio Valencia arrived before three goals inside the final 10 minutes of the game through Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial secured yet another four-goal win. "I would like one of the top five, but all of them, that is not fair for them". Coupled with a Europa League group-stage opening defeat to Atalanta on Thursday, Everton has conceded 12 goals without reply in losing its last four games in all competitions.

He added: "I didn't need to ask, it's the nature of English fans, of big clubs, when a player is big in the club and has an important part of the club history, every club in England does that".

"Everton are going to be fine but they are living a hard moment", he said.

"Those were massive bonuses and before the game he surely he would have told his players we can't afford to slip up today because we have an opportunity to open a little bit of a gap with the so called title contenders".

United have stormed to the top of the Premier League table alongside bitter rivals Manchester City after five games. "I'm sorry. If there's anybody in this room and outside and sees this as something realistic for us, please comment". 'It's a muscular injury in the hamstring but we have a normal procedure and wait a few more days, so it's completely nonsense information, ' he said.

The manager said it was him who boosted the attack after coming on field as a result of which United got the extra goals. We haven't won anything yet, this is just the beginning and with such a busy schedule there's no time to slow down and relax.

"We played better and we score more goals".
