The Haryana Police on Friday arrested the driver of Honeypreet Kaur, the controversial adopted daughter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the disgraced chief of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect.

The Haryana police yesterday arrested Insan from Sonipat.

Paramilitary and police personnel have been deployed around the court complex and several areas of Panchkula, Haryana Director General of Police BS Sandhu said. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sedition, has been registered against him by the Haryana Police.

His questioning could also throw light on the planning of the incidents of violence and arson in Panckula and Sirsa which had left 41 people dead and scores of others injured, the police said. The court sentenced him to 20-year jail term on August 28. Meanwhile, there have been reports coming out of prison of deteriorating health condition of Ram Rahim who is at present lodged in Sunaria jail in Rohtak, while cops are in search of his closest aide Honeypreet Insan. Honeypreet and Aditya Insaan are still elusive.

They were arrested after being called to join the investigation, said Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police Manbir Singh.

Talking to media here, Haryana Education minister Ram Bilas Sharma said, "The announcement of discretionary grant of 51 lakh to Dera Sacha Sauda was withdrawn on August 25, when Ram Rahim was convicted". They were in Panchkula in police uniform.
