Arrested bus conductor

"Preliminary inquiry has suggested the school had failed to follow the security norms advised by the government", he said.

The Haryana CM has said that his government has no problem in ordering a CBI probe into the murder case.

Incidentally, in a letter dated 30 March 2017, Dr A.F. Pinto, chairman of the Ryan group, addressing Class 10 students, had said, "During your schooling with us, you have been constantly motivated, guided and instilled values to become a responsible citizen and global leader".

On May 2016, a 7-year-old girl identified as Jiya studying in Ryan International school, Gurugram died after being hit by a speeding auto after she got off her school bus.

The police have arrested the school bus conductor for the murder of the 7-year-old boy.

The accused was held on Friday after he confessed to the crime, officials said.

Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case believes that evidence in the case was tampered with.

The conductor, Ashok (42), who had been working for the school for the past eight months, first tried to sexually assault the child before mercilessly killing him when he resisted, the police had said. "When we gathered here to demand justice for the family, the police thrashed us and even mediapersons", said Subhash Kumar, a protester, who received injuries during the violent scuffle.

It seems parents are destined to forever live in fear - the fear that this could happen to my child, is my child safe in the school?

"Following the tragic incident at our school yesterday, the school authorities have seriously taken up the review of the security measures at the school". There were no separate toilets for conductors and drivers and the wall behind the school remained unfinished which easily allowed anyone to enter the school premises without permission, added the report.

Carrying further investigation in the case, the police will be questioning the driver, gardener and few other people to probe possibility of accomplice.

The sudden move by Augustine F Pinto and his wife Grace Pinto, trustees of the St Xaviers Education Trust that manages the schools, came amid reports that a Haryana police team would question them and other trustees.

- The school management informed parents that the classes will be suspended for another two days "to express solidarity with the parents and family of the child".
