Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in Kulgam, J&K

It is learnt that a team of Indian Army officials sealed off an area in Khudwani at around 3 AM after receiving a tip off about the presence of Hizbul terrorists. Two militants were killed in the encounter, while the third one was captured alive.

An over-ground worker (OGW) was arrested during the operation, said an official.

Over 140 militants, including top commanders Sabzar Bhat, Junaid Matoo, Ayoub Lelhari, Bashir Lashkari, Abu Dujana and Mehmood Gaznavi, have been killed by the security forces this year, which is highest in the last eight years. "Surrender and we'll receive you with open arms", Khan told reporters. An AK-47and an INSAS rifle has been recovered from the encounter site.

This comes as the fourth time in the past one week that terrorists entered and attacked security cordons in J&K.

Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir), September 11: At least two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed and another arrested in an encounter with the security forces in the Khudwani village of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam. "The fire was retaliated and during the ensuing encounter, both the terrorists were neutralised", police spokesperson Manoj Pandita said in the statement. The slain terrorists were identified as Dawood Ahmad Allaie son of late Abdul Hamid Allaie resident of Hawoora and Sayar Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Wanpora, Qaimoh of Kulgam district.
