The Giants might be without their top receiver for their regular-season opener.
Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.is being listed as day to day with a sprained left ankle suffered Monday during a preseason loss to Cleveland. An X-ray during the game was negative. In addition to Marshall, wide receiver Tavarres King also went down after re-injuring his ankle, while Darius Powe was waived/injured on Tuesday with a hamstring injury.
Beckham took a low hit from a Browns defender which forced him to leave the game. He's very unlikely to play in the Giants' final two preseason games.
The Giants head coach would not give a clear answer on if the injuries to Beckham and Marshall change his approach for Saturday against the Jets.
"I don't know, it's just football I guess, preseason", Beckham told reporters.
After viewing multiple replays of the moment of impact, it looks as if Boddy-Calhoun had more than enough time to square-up and hit Beckham in the midsection or otherwise avoid a controversial play. The Giants have not scored a touchdown in losing their first two exhibition games. "That's all I'm gonna say about that".
Boldin then challenged National Football League owners and executives to use their clout to demand change and back many of their players who are already doing so by protesting during the anthem. "You have to play the game to get better at the game, and on offense we definitely need the work".
Beckham sprained his ankle Monday night against the Cleveland Browns.
Beckham is listed as day to day after an MRI revealed only a sprained left ankle. However, the Giants said Tuesday that the team does not have a timetable for Beckham's return, per SBNation.
"I was just trying to hit him low, hit him in the target area, which is from the neck to the knee", he added, "just anywhere in there, but I wasn't aiming at anything specific or anything like that".
