He lost his battle with depression two weeks ago (July 20th 2017) when he was found having hanged himself at his home in California.

On the first night of their latest North American tour, Coldplay's Chris Martin performed a solo tribute to Linkin Park and the late Chester Bennington, who passed away last month at the age of 41.

CBS News also reported on the photo memorial that Warner Bros. records has set up outside its Los Angeles offices for the beloved singer that has become a gathering site for fans.

It's been almost two weeks since Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington committed suicide, and his death has sparked tributes from across the music world. From Africa and Asia to across Europe, Oceania, and South America, LP ambassadors and fan sites honored Chester's memory with their own touching tributes. "In the past few days, we've seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private from around the world".

Los Angeles artist Jonas Never painted a mural of Bennington. "I used to take the pitching mound to the sound of [Linkin Park song] 'One Step Closer'".

Formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, Linkin Park gained prominence by introducing a unique rock-rap fusion style that gave a sharp new edge to the contemporary music scene. Organizers have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the event and will donate all proceeds to Music for Relief, which now funnels into the One More Light Fund in Bennington's honor.
