Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular risk losing a chunk of their 2G customers with the launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm's low-cost 4G feature phone, especially those for whom device price has been a hurdle to going 4G directly, said analysts and industry experts. So, anyone who wishes to get their hands on the new JioPhone, one has to pre-book it. All Jio Phone users can enjoy viewing their Jio content on their phones from their TV screens, Ambani said.
Navkendar Singh, senior research manager at IDC India, said JioPhone will have a significant impact on the 2G feature phone market in the country. The JioPhone contains the Alphanumeric Keypad, headphone jack, microphone, speaker, and it delivers its support to the FM Radio. Jio also announced two data sachets for this service priced at Rs 24 and Rs 54 having two days and one week validity respectively.

The JioPhone will also include access to apps like JioCinema, JioTV, and JioMusic. We can expect the WhatsApp and Facebook apps on this phone by the time it becomes available.
This device is the 100 percent 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) phone. The powerful speakers are present in it, and they deliver the better media experience. The company has a target of making 5 million Jio Phones available every week. Jio users consistently make more than 250 crore minutes of voice and video calls every single day.
To add icing on the cake, the company also launched new proprietary cable, that can be used to connect JioPhone with your TV (smart TV as well as cathode-ray tube TV (old school)). Firstly, it weakens the competition, makes data usage a part of life for more Indians that can be successfully capitalized at a later stage when competition thins out to a great extent.
