"You can tap to view it and also see a sticker of the original story that's only visible to you". While Insta posts came with the ability to comment and leave replies, there was no way a user could post anything on a Story. So when words fail you, respond to a story with an authentic reaction video - or Boomerang, or photo.

But if the amount of people using Instagram to promote their Snapchat are to be considered, the race is far but won. Similar to Instagram Direct's disappearing photos and videos, your friends will be notified if you take a screenshot or replay their response.

Instagram said this update is "just one of the ways" the company is working to improve its Direct feature, and make it "the best place to have fun, visual conversations with friends on Instagram".

"Starting today, you can reply to stories with a photo or video".

With the new update installed, when one opens the story, a camera button appears at the bottom right of the story.

Animated face filters can also be added to these messages, and like other messages sent via Direct, the DMs would disappear and friends will be alerted to any screenshots you capture.

This might not be a huge update but it will surely increase the conversational engagement in Instagram Stories. You can update your app from Google Play Store.

Better, because you can make your reaction video as amusing and silly as you please, resting assured that once your recipient views the video, it will disappear forever and no one will ever be able to see it again.
