Arsenal edge nearer to Alexandre Lacazette deal?

Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette over recent season's has displayed why he's considered one of the best strikers in Europe.

Lacazette was expected to join Atletico Madrid earlier this month until the Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision to uphold a summer-long transfer embargo on Los Rojiblancos.

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette, after Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed the France striker wants to leave the Ligue 1 club.

The FC panel discuss the lack of love for Gareth Bale at Real Madrid and wonder if it's time for him to make a move.

But Aulas, in an interview with French broadcaster Canal Plus, has poured cold water over the speculation, insisting Lacazette is likely to stay at Lyon.

Lyon have previously expressed an interest in West Ham United target Olivier Giroud, which led to predictable rumours regarding a possible part-exchange deal with Arsenal.

Mariano played 14 games and scored five goals for Real Madrid last season as he failed to establish himself as a regular for Zinedine Zidane's side.

"I'm at a big club and we have an important role to play in Ligue 1, which is a good championship", Mariano told reporters.

"You really have to ask Arsene Wenger".

Lacazette has been heavily linked with a move away from Lyon after scoring 127 goals in 274 appearance.

'I do not have anything to say about Olivier Giroud.,' Aulas said.
