That saw players resort to buying third-party extension cables, and, with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition, Nintendo has looked to lengthen the distance that you have to sit near the miniaturised replica. If it's anything like it's predecessor, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Classic that was released previous year, it may be hard to find an SNES classic.

Nintendo says the retro gaming system will launch on 29 September, which could make it a popular gift for Christmas.

Open tabs in your browser for every single online retailer's SNES Classic product page and reload it semi-regularly. The release of this finished, but never before released, game surprised and excited many, but probably none more so than Dylan Cuthbert, who programmed Star Fox 2 back in 1995. The demand for the system will likely increase as news of its existence leaves enthusiast circles and the mainstream audience that grew up with the Super Nintendo joins the hunt.

What do you think is missing from the Super NES Classic? The brand recently announced that the Super Nintendo system will be making a comeback in the fall. Whilst the SNES Classic's library is significantly smaller than its predecessor's, which had 30 games, it's arguably stronger, with nearly every single game a blockbuster of its day, including some of the best games Nintendo has ever made, like Super Metroid, Super Mario World, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

If Nintendo continues the business of releasing these classic consoles, and trust me they will because of how successful they are, prepare to see them have smaller libraries. It's also been revealed that the European version won't be coming with an AC adapter, similar to how they got the NES Classic Edition.

How much does it cost and where can I pre-order it?

It features 21 build in games, like Super Mario World, Zelda, and the never before released Star Fox Two.
