JK Rowling, Julie Walters and David Walliams recognised in Queen's birthday honours

Alongside the New Year Honours list, the awards recognise the achievements and service of people across the United Kingdom, from all walks of life.

Entertainer Billy Connolly has been knighted in the honours list, while dancer Beryl Gray and Harry Potter creator JK Rowling are both inducted to the list of Companions of Honour.

Tourists Allen Pemborke and Paul Short are also both receiving the Queen's Commendation for Bravery after they helped the wounded who were shot on a beach in Tunisia in 2015.

Helena Morrissey, Legal & General Investment Management's head of personal investing and a campaigner for women on company boards, becomes a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, along with the actresses Julie Walters and June Whitfield.

Hampshire Police inspector Louise Hubble who lives in Salisbury has been awarded an OBE for services to the rural communities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
