From Jessica Jones' attitude to Daredevil's zings, Luke Cage's big slab of no bullshit, and Iron Fist.
The streaming service today released the first proper trailer for The Defenders in which we see numerous heroes that have their own separate shows on Netflix fight the bad guys under one roof. Needless to say Weaver's sole line in the trailer leaves us wanting to know more about her mysterious villain and means in which she plans on breaking each of the Defenders and their allies! This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
This may give people enough pause to wonder if the team is going to be able to put aside past differences - "old memories" from their "known enemy" and somehow become what they others "want them to be".
After the Netflix and Marvel place card, we pick up with what appears to be a morning after conversation between Claire (Rosario Dawson) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter). You can check out the new trailer below.
The lawyer visit is unexpected to both Jones and Knight, and sets the tone for a NY superhero team-up with a roster of vigilantes that prefer working alone, but are forced to act together to take on something bigger than themselves.
The Defenders comes to Netflix on August 18.
The trailer does a good job of setting the stage for what's to come and bringing the four heroes together in pairs. In the first scene, Detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) interrogates an arrested Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), covered in blood and oozing with the snark she's become known for.
The first full-length trailer for The Defenders has been released by Netflix and Marvel and right off the bat it is clear that the series really will be a joint effort of characters from all of the solo adventures.
Despite being the most in-depth look at the series to date, the trailer certainly raises its fair share of mysteries. Sigourney Weaver can be seen turning slowly to the camera with an expression that drips menace.
