Virat Kohli: With my comeback, focus will be on chasing targets

The RCB captain will take field against Mumbai Indians at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Friday, April 14.

"Indian Cricket Team and Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain Virat Kohli has gained match fitness", confirmed by the BCCI Medical Team.

Today, the first game which is scheduled to be played at 4:00 pm today in Bengaluru is between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the mighty Mumbai Indians.

The skipper had injured his shoulder while fielding during the third Test against Australia in Ranchi and subsequently missed the fourth and deciding Test in Dharamsala. He sustained the injury during India's 3rd Test against Australia, and subsequently missed the 4th Test, and also the initial three games for the Royal Challengers. Anushka role in her latest film Phillauri was widely appreciated while Virat Kohli recently got the Padma Shri.

"I don't think Virat will give me a Christmas card though", he laughed.

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said after the match: "It was a great effort with the bat".

MI is improving with every game that they are playing.

Manjrekar was responding to a fellow commentator's query about what Pollard's ideal position in the batting order should be. The match was clearly back in RCB's grip and it needed a herculean task from at least one of MI's remaining batsmen to see the team avoid a humiliating loss at a ground where the average first innings score is 193. There have been individual heroics from cricketers like AB de Villiers, Kedar Jadhav, Billy Stanlake, they will have to put up all-round performance to win against MI, who are in a good form as a team. But we have to focus on our strengths and see what we can achieve. Without Virat Kohli at the top they looked a little fragile. Never a good feeling when you have played for seven-eight years without missing a game at all. Chris Gayle did not look comfortable and was batting slow by his standards.

Everyone expected some thunder storms when Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli took the center stage. It was a conscious decision to stay away from the spotlight, one as he admitted left him refreshed.

Kedar Jadhav, meanwhile, has showcased his utility by slamming a 37-ball 69 to help his side score 157 runs during a 15-run win over Delhi Daredevils. But AB de Villiers likes facing him, as a strike rate of 169.04 indicates.
