Coral Gables Police said the scene has now been secured.
Coral Gables police rushed to the scene, shutting down traffic outside the shopping mall and placing nearby businesses on lockdown.
Miami-Dade police confirmed that the shooting has resulted in at least one death. The wounded "included the general manager, who is listed on the fitness center's website as Jeanine Ackerman and a trainer", the Herald added.

7News cameras captured paramedics bringing in those two victims into the hospital.
Shed Boren, a member of Equinox, said his trainer told him the incident involved a disgruntled trainer: "I had just left Equinox", he said.
The shooting started about 1 p.m., witnesses told WPLG. The mall was on lockdown for a time until police secured the scene. 33-year old Bodybuilding enthusiast Abeku Wilson previously worked for Equinox Fitness Club and is expected to be the shooter. Witnesses at the Villagio Restaurant and the Yard House also reported hearing the gun shots.
"That's when I saw people running as fast as they could out a service exit to a back alley".
Miami-Dade police are investigating the shooting.
