Bouchard agreed to date a fan if the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl- and they did

Eugenie Bouchard kept her word and went out on a blind date with her Twitter follower after she lost a bet during the Super Bowl final.

A fan responded by asking, if the Patriots win, if she would go out on a date with him?

Ms Bouchard, clearly a woman of her word, tweeted a picture of herself and Mr Goehrke en route to a NY basketball game.

Seeing Genie's tweet, Twitter user @punslayintwoods replied by suggesting that he went on a date with her if the Patriots achieved the impossible.

"He's normal", she said.

Westmount's Bouchard was watching the Super Bowl on February 5, and early in the third quarter with the Atlanta Falcons sporting a 25-point lead over Tom Brady's New England Patriots our Genie "nationale" thought the game was over. However, as luck would have it, the Patriots pulled off a stunning comeback in the second half to win 34-28 in overtime.

In New York for ceremonies tied to the Sports Illustrated launch, she met Goehrke earlier Wednesday.

Bouchard, who was photographed on the beaches of Turks and Caicos, is joined in the magazine by fellow tennis stars Caroline Wozniacki and Serena Williams. "We've gotten to know each other".

Bouchard watches the Nets-Bucks game with Goehrke from her courtside seats at the Barclays Center. " she says in a behind-the-scenes video from the tropical photo shoot".

As for Goehrke, clearly he took some advice from hockey great Wayne Gretzky: "You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take".
